It’s Australia’s number one sausage fest! Yes, it’s full of blokes.
However, when there are lot of guys around in one area of the Gold Coast, then there’s definitely some live nude action from those want to be models/strippers. Last Indy there was an abundance of nudity all around the grog (beer) infested streets of Surfers Paradise, with girls walking around randomly flashing in public places. In every bar entrance you’d be greeted with a friendly smile from a topless waitress
There is a downside to all of this nude exposure though, as the bars and clubs sometime charge $25 dollars to enter, and the price of beer doubles. If your lucky enough to get yourself an apartment over looking the track, then it’s best to buy yourself a slab of your favourite beer. Otherwise, Indy will cost you an arm and a leg!
It has been said that some bars and clubs make more profit in these four days than the rest of the year. Wow! That’s a lot of piss!

Schoolies

Imagine 100,000 school graduates all going to one destination over a three week period, with one intention only… to get wasted! This happens every year here in Surfers Paradise and it’s quite honestly one the most hectic and at the same time fun packed events ever. From swimming in the shark infested rivers, to jumping off hotel balconies, these guys really go to the maximum. With an average of $3000 spending money for the week and are barely legal to drink, what would else would you expect from school leavers. Pure madness!

You’d think that this would be beneficial to the bar and nightclub establishments, but it isn’t really. The schoolies that are under eighteen years of age tend to bring fake ID’s, and the over eighteen schoolies mainly drink takeaway alcohol from bottle shops. The clubs are left with a stampede of drunken teenage kids trashing their venues and without buying any drinks. However, it really is a fun environment. These guys are celebrating the fact that their education days are pretty much over and that most of them are now old enough to drink in bars.

An energetic week to say the least!
